Dave Reid
Dave Reid learned to sail Mirrors in Peterhead Bay Scotland in the 80’s. He designed the model for Sail Transport Company after realizing that it could be the simplest way to harness abundant wind and tidal power. Dave loves the navigational and natural challenges of designing regular scheduled petroleum free sail transport routes in the Northwest Inland waters. Dave’s boat Whisper is one of the few cruiser/racer sloops fitted for pure engineless sailing, in his spare time he loves to train sailors in engineless navigation especially close quarter navigation and docking. He lives on his boat Monsoon and holds a USCG 50 Ton Masters License with sailing endorsement. |

He lives at Shilshole Marina on his boat, Jackie, a Yankee 30, rigged for pure sailing. Bob enjoys sailing, bicycle touring, and playing his cello. Bob currently holds the speed record for an experimental sail transport delivery between Sequim Bay and Seattle loaded, engineless cleat to cleat 11hrs 15min. |
